CENTER FOR THE STUDY OF CONTEXTUAL THEOLOGY

God’s eternal revelation has manifested itself in real and embodied contexts. Conversely, this contextual embodiment has been renewed through the truth of that revelation.

Facing the past, present and future of indigenous cultural contexts, and navigating the interaction of globalization and localization, we strive to pursue theological truth from a position of sincere openness, dialogical communication, and mutual learning. Our main focus falls on Christian faith within the indigenous cultural context, and is driven by an incarnational hermeneutic. From this standpoint, we aim to study the fundamental theological disciplines, to integrate contexts into theological reflection, to observe different trends of “growth” and “decline,” to reflect on theological thinking as it is realized in different contexts, and to apply a theology grounded in these contexts.
